Not too long ago Threadless announced a fun t-shirt competition. I ignored the announcement at first, but when it popped up on my Facebook feed for the sixth time, I figured I might as well see if I can create a t-shirt worthy owl. I’ll be creating these things anyway–going retro will just add to the challenge.
For my first owl in this series, I found my inspiration in 1950s fabric patterns, again. It’s fun to browse through vintage fabrics and find shapes that could be transformed into owl bits and pieces. I’m not so thrilled with the color palettes yet, but I’m sure I’ll get over it.
